The ABB FI820F is a serial fieldbus module designed for the Freelance AC 800F system, which enables efficient communication between devices within the control system, thus enhancing system reliability and performance. It is an essential component for integrating field devices into the Freelance AC 800F system. With its serial interface, the module can establish a stable connection to field devices to conduct real-time monitoring and control, which is crucial for improving the efficiency and reliability of industrial processes.   The FI820F supports the Modbus protocol, and is equipped with two mutually electrically isolated serial interfaces, which can be configured as RS232, RS422 or RS485. RS232 and RS422 operate in duplex mode, while RS485 is for half-duplex operation, and RTS and CTS are available for hardware handshake.   Built to withstand harsh industrial environments, the module ensures long-term durability with minimal maintenance requirements, making it suitable for various industrial applications, such as manufacturing, oil and gas, power generation, etc. Its operating voltage is 220 V, and the operating temperature range is from -20 °C to +55 °C.
